Well, you’re all set to plan and book your next holiday. ?You’ve got a list of all of your possible destinations, and it’s off to the travel agents to get it booked. ?But steady on! ?Lets take a step back and make sure that you’ve got everything covered.
Let’s start with your journey. ?Are you staying in the same country as you live? ?If so what are your travelling plans. ?You’re probably thinking of a nice long drive for a couple of weeks by the coast, and I can’t say that I blame you. ?At least you’ll have the flexibility and freedom to go where you want to and see the sights that you want. ?But there’s also the railways you know. ?
Trains can be booked for relatively low prices and you know that you won’t have to be sat in traffic for hours!! ?A good look around the web will find plenty of train ticket discounters!
But maybe you’re one of the millions of people who want to fly off to sunnier climates. ?Now, I bet your first instinct is to get the travel brochures and see the agents. ?But – do a bit more research! ?Use the internet and search for things such as cheap flights or budget flights. ?You’ll find a wealth of deals, and the more research you do, the more control you’ll have. ?You can set your own flight preferences, including meals, comfort, window / aisle seats and even discounts. ?You’ll also be able to find take off and landing times that suit you. ?Amazing what a bit of research can do eh!
But where’s your destination going to be? ?Let’s say you’ve decided on Malta. ?But what do you REALLY know about it. ?You may have been travelling for there for 10 years and know everything, but you may be a Malta newbie and need to do that bit of research.
Most good travel websites have a destination information section. ?You’ll be able to find out about local activities, places to stay, cuisine, weather and a whole host of things that will help you to make that informed choice. ?Remember you’re probably only going to do the holiday / vacation thing once in a year so you need to know everything about it to enjoy it and make sure that you come home having had a great relaxing time.
Finally, have you researched your accommodation. ?No?? ?Why not?? ?This is the most important piece of research that you can possibly do! ?The place where you stay has to be paramount in your thoughts! ?If you book a hotel chances are you won’t be able to research where you stay. ?What you need to do is use a good quality holiday rentals website. ?Here you can search for property and find out everything that you need to know. ?You can read descriptions, ask questions and make a full informed choice on where to stay.
Spend a couple of hours doing your research and you’re guaranteed a much better holiday experience.
