Ryanair – Good budget airline to travel with, or not?
May 05
We travel to Spain at the end of July. We travel with Thomsonfly for ‘good’ holiday, but it is only a week to visit my family and friends flew two hours started to watch low-cost airlines – Ryanair being heard more barato. He they charge an extra last thing – is worth the hassle for potential savings or simply stick to Thomsonfly? The responses of those who have experience please Ryanair

yes for short distances, just dont expect to land anywhere near your ‘destination’ or bring lots of luggage (you have to pay).
I used to fly with Ryanair regularly, they’re good to fly with in my experience, it’s simple, just booked the tickets online I didn’t have to pay anything else just went to the air port and borded like you would any airline
I avoid Ryanair just because of their luggage restrictions (max 15 kilos -you´ve got to be kidding!) Apart from that, they´re ok, although they sometimes depart really early in the morning.
I have used Ryanair on a few occassions and can quite honestly say I have only ever had pleasant experiences with them.
The luggage allowance of 15kg is dreadful really, however, if you can get away with it, don’t book any on the flight and just put it in your hand luggage. I went to Sevilla for a weekend and that is pretty much what everybody did and some people really take the p*** with what they take on the plane. This can save you about £30 from your flight I think.
EasyJet are really good as well, as you can take unlimited weight hand luggage, where as with Ryanair it is only 10kg.
I hope this helps.
went to germany with school last week and we flew with ryanair, it was 2 teachers with 13 kids (age 14 and 15) and it was fine. you have a limit to 15kg in you luggage then max 10kg in your hand lugage, but if youre slightly over they dont mind much, or was it just we were flying at half 10 at night and the people at check in were prbs tired! dont know if you have to pay extra for more checked in luggage but we we were only allowed 1.
check in was easy, they had these electic machines you booked in with then just dropped your bags of.
the weight restriction is annoying but generally ryanair aren’t too bad. im going to london in june, doing online check-in, hand luggage and paid with debit card rather than credit so no charge. it cost me £2 return overall. so yes, if you play about the with charges until its the minimum you need they are good to travel with.
I use RyanAir on a regular basis to fly to the South of France. I can say that the service is top class and always on time. I have never had any problems with them and flown around 12 times with them. As with all low cost flights now you have to pay for baggage, but I could take a case the size of hand luggage and it does me a week so I saved money. Also check in at home online and it will save you a few pound. Id reccomend you take some food on board if you can as it is a little pricey but they all are. All together Idsay its a superb airline and does the job fine. By the way my airport I travel to is perfect!!
Bad. Really bad. I was on a flight with them once from London to Rome. The old man sitting next to me started a “Mid-Flight-Masturbation-Routine”. I told the stewardess straight away. Twice! She told me to join in or to “get a life”!! It was horrible. Never again!
