Any idea where 6-8 girls aged 21 with a small budget could go on an activity holiday?

May 03

I think a trip with my girls (a group of six students from 21 years) to celebrate my 21st birthday. We thought snowboarding in Austria, but everything is so expensive. We travel in late January early February money is tight and we want to make a kind of active holidays (long weekends or up to 7 days). 9.8 Any idea where girls aged 21 with a small budget can holz continue to do something more fun than learning to snowboard or something similar?

    I know from relatives that winter sports in Slovakia are alive and fun.
    I do not do them, so I never asked where to go.
    Reading here I also see Poland, Czech republic, Slovenia and maybe other countries that used to be Communist.
    It might be a good move to walk into a travel agency and see what they have on offer, often they can beat the prices you can find on internet, specially when you have a student travel agency near.

    What I hear from Slovakia, likely also true in several of the other countries, do not stay in the mountain resorts, better stay in the town a little farther out, much cheaper.

    I have been in Poprad, in the Tatras in Slovakia, the tram/railway there has holders for skis, as in winter many people use it to go up the mountain. (There I stayed in Hotel/Cafe Razy, listed in the Lonely Planet guide for Czech and Slovak republics, price was good, the room also.)

    Take a look at this website;

    http://www.soul-adventure.com,

    This is a new venture, having been set up this year. Based in Serbia, it has everything you need for a group such as yourselves. You will have your own ‘host’ on hand, 24 hours a day to arrange whatever you choose to do; anything from relaxing by a beach, to touring and sightseeing, to adventure activities. Contact Goran…..a truly lovely guy, who speaks perfect English. Have a word with him to see if this is the thing for you.

    North Cyprus is not a place to snowboard, but you can ski just across the border in the Troodos mountains in south Cyprus.

    Why not create your own activity holiday; skiing on Monday, paragliding from the Kyrenia mountains Tuesday, try out scuba diving Wednesday (OK, that will be in a swimming pool, not the sea, but the sun should shine during your lesson!), race go-karts on Thursday, try 4×4 driving in the Karpas peninsula Friday, and if you have the stamina, windsurf on Saturday and take a golf lesson on Sunday!!

    North Cyprus is around a third cheaper than south Cyprus, and prices for a rental villa in the winter for all of you would be remarkably good value. North Cyprus has a large student population, so you’ll always find some charming chaps to talk to in the bars and clubs too!
