I am planning on flying from Chile to Los Angeles to visit family. I am a little concerned, this is my first pregnancy but has been extremely smooth. Can you get preeclampsia from long flights?

Tips for you

  1. I don’t know about preeclampsia but you may need to have a special note fromy our doctor allowing you to fly. I don’t know if airlines check – but they may have problems with you travelling pregnant (especially such a long flight). Also, I don’t know if the States are like New Zealand – but when you visit NZ they question whether or not you’re pregnant and can turn you away. Besides that issue: You need to get up and walk a lot – just to keep your blood flowing and drink lots of water. That’s all I can guess – if you’re going alone, don’t pack to much – remember you’ll have to heft those bags on your own!

  2. there’s a lot of info online about flying during pregnancy, you should have a note from your doctor just in case and carry all of your important info about your prenatal visits, sit on a aisle seat and drink LOTS of water, i listed some websites to help
