We went there for a week 2 years ago and it was so wonderful! We went on a whale watching cruise, did the scenic drive which took us to some wonderful spots, went to a local farmers market (bought oranges and dates to take back home), and much more. It was absolutely wonderful. We also went to Sea World (it was okay, you child might like it, but did not meet my expectations), the San Diego Zoo (great!), and the Wild Animal Park (This was absolutely fabulous!). At the Wild Animal Park since it was our honeymoon we sprang for the AFrican safari tour which was completely worth the money. We got to see many animals up close and pose for photos with giraffes inches away. We also got to feed the giraffes! I highly recommend San Diego! It went much above my expectations! Very affordable too. We did not stay in a prime location or pricey hotel but we rented a car and got around the area in minutes. My favorite destination is San Diego, California.
