1. A beach-side resort, door opens directly to the beach. Water is crystal clear. You see fishes swimming in it. The sand is so fine and smooth, it does not stick to your skin. You just have to walk barefoot on it. each morning you wake to the sunrise through the door.

   How about this beach vacation? I did it in Thailand.

2. It all depends on what you want in a vacation. Do you want to relax and recharge? Do you want to hang out at the beach and party at night? Do you like taking day trips? Do you snorkel or dive, or do you want to learn how? It all affects where you go.
   I’ve stayed in many different locations but one of my 2 favorites is Mauii at the Outrigger Napili shores .
   Because you are renting a fully furnished ground floor condo it’s like staying at a friend’s house, without the friend being there. Check out this link for more information.
   I went in early December, when it’s ugly in the States, but before the Christmas high season starts. It was under $100 a night and the place was incredible!

   My second favorite place, where I learned to dive, is St. John in the United States Virgin Islands. The water is a beautiful turqoise and the beaches are white coral. Accommodations range from camping at the US National Park, to high end resorts.
   Renting a jeep on the island and driving the ocean road is beautiful, and you can park and jump into the water when the mood hits.
   Night life in St. Thomas check the tourism section)
   is a short ferry ride away over the most beautiful colored water you’ll ever find.

3. I would have to agree with one of the previous writers — an all-inclusive vacation if you just want to chill out, get in some actiivities, great beaches, and typically buffet breakfasts, lunches and dinners with alternative sit-down dinners.

   I would expand your search to include Club Med, SuperClubs, Secrets and other all-inclusives. SuperClubs right now is having a early winter sale — first couple of weeks in December and first ten days in January or so with prices starting at $69 per person per day. I would expand this to include resorts in Mexico on the East Coast from Cancun south to the Rivierra Maya.

   Since some clubs are couples only, families, moderate, expensive, etc., I suggest you contact a local travel agency and determine what’s best for you.

4. there are two ideal vacations for me.

   this might not work for you.

   I like Sandals all inclusive and right now I think they have a sale going on. Sandals Negril is very nice.

   My other choice is St. Johns USVI. Very nice with wonderful snorkeling and scuba!!. The most beautiful beaches in the world and you can stay there a month and never go to the same beach every day

6. My first ‘tropical vacation’ was at age 12 – really too young to fully appreciate, but old enuf’ to know that the adults on the yacht were thoroughly enjoying themselves, and instilling a ‘want to do this, when I’m a grown-up’ feeling within me, and my memories.

   I’ve not returned to the Bahamas, since then . . .limitations for reaching this goal? Had forgotten this event and feeling, until reading your question! Thanx for reminding me . . . and today, as a ‘grown-up’?

   I’d opt for a tropical vacation in Jamaica – with my ‘honey’, optimal temperatures around upper 70’s, clear skies, lite breezes, lots of island music and rhythms, diverse menus, sandy (vacant) beaches, starlit, balmy evenings — are we there yet???
