How much money would you need to go travelling for a year?

We are planning to work in australia for a few months if we can find jobs but that is the only place we will probably work on our travels.
Any suggestions would be a great help!

It depends – if you plan to spend most of your time in Asia (except Japan, Hongkong and parts of South Korea), it can be quite cheap. A friend of mine just returned from Australia…ten weeks earlier than he planned, because he did not find work. A lot of farmers and factories are laying off people right now due to the worldwide financial crisis and very few employers hire foreigners these days.
