Question by Kimia: What does a hotel mean by “3-night deposit to secure reservation?”?
A resort in the caribbean states that a “three-night deposit is required to secure reservations and is non-refundable within 30 days of arrival. ”

Does that mean that there is a 3 night minimum stay? Or does it mean that if we stay 2 nights, then the 3rd night will be credited back to us?
thanks for the info guys!

You’ll have to call or email them to clarify. It could mean either but I would take it as a three night minimum stay, once you’ve paid it would be unlikely they would credit you anything.

Be careful & email them to get it in writing before you pay anything. Good luck!

It means they want three nights’ deposit. It doesn’t matter if you stay two nights, non-refundable means they keep all the money.

It’s a three night minimun stay. You have to pay for 3 nights. Always call the resort directly to see if they will reserve for two nights and you pay for only 2 nights if that’s what you need.

If it’s slow time for them, they may just do this.

    Good Luck)

I believe they mean that it is a 3-night miminum stay and if you do not stay the 3rd day, then you lose the deposit for that day.
