I am from Sweden; this article made me think twice about going there http://www.thisisnorthdevon.co.uk/regionalnews/Attack-thugs-ruined-life/article-1578451-detail/article.html
Hi,
If I’m completely honest with you, you can google any city & find evidence of provoked & unprovoked attacks. My advice to you would be to take care in the UK as you would in any foreign country, don’t drink to much that you are not aware of your surroundings or the people around you.
These types of attacks are not the norm & I’m sure if you take care as you would in any foreign country, you will have an enjoyable trip.
We aren’t all larger louts and thugs & for what the UK lacks in sunshine we make up for elsewhere, there are some lovely tourist spots & attractions, if you listen to everything on the news/internet – I don’t think anybody would ever venture out again
Hope you have a great holiday & merry christams x
Exeter is a great city to visit/stay/use as a base to explore the whole of the South West Of England, City/Countryside/Seaside/Jurassic coast/hills and moors – you name it it’s got it !As Crazy J has already answered you should take the normal and reasonable precautions as you would at home.
Exeter is a wonderful Cathedral City, plus one of the best regional Universities in the UK, cultural activities too numerous to mention. It’s old Roman name ISCA sates back over 2000 years so it has quite a bit to offer. Vitrually destroyed in 1943 and now a vibrant centre again.
Visit the local tourist information website or just search on Yahoo or Google. Convince youself,
And don’t believe everything you read in the papers !
Exeter is a reasonable place. Unfortunately any city in the world is liable to have a thug element. It’s made worse in night spots because of people drinking too much alcohol.
